Psychological Testing & Assessment
Sometimes the clearest path forward starts with understanding what's actually going on. Psychological testing gives you and your provider objective, detailed information — not just impressions — about how you think, learn, feel, and function. Whether you're seeking answers for yourself, your child, or a loved one, a thorough evaluation can bring clarity to questions that therapy conversations alone can't fully resolve.
What Psychological Testing Can Help Identify
-
Distinguishing attention difficulties from anxiety, mood, or other overlapping conditions.
-
Identifying specific learning differences affecting academic or professional performance
-
Clarifying diagnosis when symptoms are complex or unclear
-
Understanding strengths and weaknesses across memory, processing speed, executive functioning, and more
-
When previous evaluations, medications, or treatment approaches haven't fully addressed the picture
What to Expect
1. Initial Consultation
We start with a conversation about what's prompting the evaluation, your history, and what questions you're hoping to answer. This helps us determine the right battery of tests for your specific situation.
2. Testing Sessions
Depending on the referral question, testing may include cognitive, academic, attention, and emotional/personality measures. Sessions are conducted in a comfortable, unhurried setting — testing is not timed to feel like an exam.
3. Scoring and Interpretation
Your results are carefully scored and interpreted in the context of your background, history, and presenting concerns — not just compared to a generic norm.
4. Feedback Session
We meet to walk through the results together in plain language, answer your questions, and discuss what the findings mean for treatment, accommodations, or next steps.
5. Comprehensive Report
You'll receive a written report suitable for schools, employers, physicians, or other providers, as needed.
